While I started my clinic back in 2003 and teaching workshops back in 2004, the idea for a website was unexpected, unplanned and happened quickly. In fact it went online 1 hour before a television series I was foraging in was broadcast! I had now idea how it would grow and all the wonderful people I would meet, work with and teach through it. I had great fun reflecting on this recently in my last newsletter. Thank you to everyone who has been here all this time: coming to walks in the rain, shine or thunderstorms; learning to make things at classes, reading newsletters, joining online courses, writing to me with you thoughts and ideas. You are such an inspiration! I had no idea how this would all grow and develop. Like so many of the best things in life, it wasn't planned! So THANK YOU! And here's to the next decade of learning about and working with native plants, re-centering our lives around nature. That's surely of benefit to everyone and everything.

Read more in my newsletter. Visit my website (link in bio) to sign up for that.

Are you a natural cosmetic formulator? Do you alre Are you a natural cosmetic formulator? Do you already make or are you learning to make professional natural cosmetics but are unsure how best to include herbs in them? Then this series is for you! Using Herbs in Professional Natural Cosmetics. Specialist e-class series starts next week.

Which extract method should you use? Glycerites? Alcohol? Oil? Which chemicals and properties do these different methods extract? Is your ingredient safe in pregnancy?
In these online classes I cover the most common questions I've been asked by natural cosmetic makers over the last 10 years. So if you've had hassle with your hydrosols or made mouldy macerated oils then this is the course to sort this out once and for all!

We begin on Thursday 7th Jan at 7 pm (GMT). This course was established in 2019 and students from at least a dozen countries have already done it and got the help they need to sort out their stumbling blocks and power ahead with their brand.

Classes are broadcast live but video recordings are always available afterwards so you can watch them back whenever suits you.

I only take small groups for this so that all students get a fair chance to have their questions answered so that we can chase away their doubts and propel their work forwards.

This marvelous woman is Dr James Barry and she's o This marvelous woman is Dr James Barry and she's one of my favourite rebellious dedicated Irish women who didn't let convention, societal norms or anyone hold her back from going off to do what she clearly felt compelled to do with her life. She has an incredible story as do so many other pioneering women from history. Hear us (@theherbalhub and herbalist & author @elisabeth.cl.brooke) discuss some of them tonight in 'Women Healers Through History' as we glance back through the last 3000 years or so to uncover some of these long-forgotten stories of women who were innovators in medicine and healing. Get ready to see history in a whole new way and be inspired! If you would like info about how to join us then please comment here or DM me. And remember, I always make a video recording so don't worry if you can't join us live.

Women Healers Through History: next week myself an Women Healers Through History: next week myself and Elisabeth Brooke (author and herbalist) @elisabeth.cl.brooke will discuss this inspiring and lively topic. From Ancient times there were female medics, midwives and healers who practiced medicine and wrote key medical texts on gynecology and other aspects of medicine. Many of them were highly-regarded by their male peers. We will look back at topics such as centres of healing, ancient medical schools, pioneering doctors, why midwifery was considered a threatening profession, the central role of herbs in medicine and more. This is full of bright and inspiring women who shone out in the work they chose to do: Mary Seacole, Dr James Barry, Aspasia and so many more. In modern times we tend to think that our form of medicine is the most advanced, yet centuries ago sophisticated levels of medicine and surgery were available, showing what advanced knowledge and skills physicians had then too. We will try to restore the balance a little and bring more recognition to these remarkable women.

If you would like to join us then please comment here or PM me and I'll send the info later today.
